Sass Second- NPHS May News

It’s hard to believe we are wrapping up the school year!  I want to thank the staff, students, parents and community for supporting the new administration through their first year.  As we close a school year, I am blessed to work with a great staff and amazing, talented students!

We have completed our ISTEP+ and ECA testing.  A big shout out goes to the staff and students for working together during schedule changes to create a positive testing environment.  It took a lot of teamwork and collaboration, but the Cougar family made it look easy!  We are in the final leg of testing with our AP tests scheduled from May 1st-12th.   Good luck to our AP students during this testing time.

We will be mailing your student’s course selections for next school year this month. We will not adjust schedules in August because we need to balance class sizes this summer.  Please review it with your student and contact the Guidance department with any questions or concerns.

Summer school is being offered from May 31st-June 16th from 7:30-11:30.  This is a great opportunity for your student to earn a credit.  We have a few more openings, so please contact the Guidance Office for more information.

All students will clean out their lockers on May 23rd and will not be allowed to bring backpacks or bags to school during finals.  Our yearbooks will be delivered the last week of school to all students who purchased them.

Reminder to seniors:  You must be passing ALL graduation required courses on May 26, 2017 to participate in our graduation ceremony on June 4, 2017.

Please review the schedule below for students to complete their finals.  We do have some special activities planned for our seniors on 5/25/17, so their schedule is tweaked a bit. If your student will not be present on 5/24 or 5/25, please complete an early final form two weeks prior to the end of the year.  These forms can be picked up in the office and are located on our website.

Senior Awards Breakfast    All senior parents are invited to our Senior Awards breakfast on May 25th at 8:45 in the cafeteria.  Please call Robin Savchick at 654-574-7271 if you plan on attending.

Graduation Practice & Senior Picnic    On the 25th, we will practice for graduation and have a few special activities planned for the senior lunch.  Students will be released after the picnic.  As always, we encourage our students to ride in creatively on the 25th!  Our parking lot will be open at 5:00 AM for their arrival.  Students will not be allowed to camp/tailgate prior to 5:00 AM on the 25th.

Senior parents remember you are in the homestretch and take time to enough the hustle and bustle because you will miss it!  We will see you on June 4th for the Class of 2017 graduation.  Students need to report to the auditorium at 1:00 and the gymnasium will be open for seating for guests.

Please take time to click on the link below to give suggestions to help us improve NPHS.  It’s a one question survey.  Thanks!
